We’ve got a five-game schedule coming up in the NHL tonight, but in the meantime there’s plenty for us fans to talk about. That said, let’s check out our daily wrap-up and see what’s happening with some of the notable players around the league.
Daniel Paille, LW, Boston Bruins: The Bruins have now won two games at home in two days, thanks in part to Paille. He logged a pair of goals last night against the Red Wings in a 5-3 win at TD Garden.
The goals completed a 4-0-1 stretch in the Bruins’ past five games. Niklas Svedberg made 36 saves in the victory.
Boston is now 33-22-10.
Elias Lindholm, C, Carolina Hurricanes: The Hurricanes were down three goals midway through the second, but were able to come back against the Oilers last night. Lindholm bagged a five-point game with three goals and two assists in the 7-4 win, while Jeff Skinner managed a pair of scores himself.
Eric Staal was the facilitator with four assists on the night.
The ‘Canes are now 25-32-7 while the Oilers fall to 18-37-11.
Adam Henrique, C, New Jersey Devils: The Devils won the Stanley Cup 20 years ago, and they celebrated in style last night against the Flyers at Prudential Center. Henrique put up two goals in the 5-2 victory, while Steve Bernier managed three assists.
Jersey is now 9-3-1 in their past 13 games at Prudential, and 2-1-0 on this current homestand.
Gabriel Landeskog, LW, Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche posted one goal in each period last night en route to a 3-2 win over the Wild at Xcel Energy Center. Landeskog put up a goal and an assist in the victory, while Semyon Varlamov saved 29 of 30 shots.
The Avs are now 30-25-11 and are within seven points of the Jets for the second Wild Card spot in the West.
