The explosive Hurricanes attack featured received two goals each from Jeff Skinner and Valentin Zykov with Phillip Di Giuseppe  and Teuvo Teravainen also reaching the scoring column. Jacob Slavin gave the Canes three assists and Cam Ward picked up the win with 28 saves.

The Ottawa Senators have followed a three game winning streak with a three game skid where neither end of the ice has been able to come through. Ottawa comes off of a 6-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers where Matt Duchene and Filip Chiapik scored with Craig Anderson allowing six goals on 38 shots.

Drake Caggiula and Connor McDavid paced the Oilers offensive explosion with two goals apiece with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Ty Rattie also finding the back of the net. McDavid and Darnell Nurse also added three assists each for Edmonton and Cam Talbot picked up the win with 33 saves.

Hurricanes are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Atlantic and over is 5-0 in Hurricanes last 5 vs. a team with a losing record and over is 4-0 in Hurricanes last 4 vs. Eastern Conference. Senators are 1-6 in their last 7 home games and over is 5-1 in Senators last 6 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Senators are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Metropolitan. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and home team is 27-7 in the last 34 meetings and under is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings in Ottawa.

The Hurricanes have more to like in this matchup then the Senators but I give Ottawa a decent chance here…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
