The Colorado Avalanche goes to Ottawa, Canada, to take on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday at the Canadien Tire Centre. The Colorado Avalanche are coming off of a crushing win over the Buffalo Sabres. The game prior was a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, which snapped a three-game winning streak the Avalanche were on, defeating the San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, and the Detroit Red Wings. The Avalanche had outscored their opponents 15-6 in their win streak.

The Colorado Avalanche are 29-16-6 on the season and are third in the Central Division, falling from second to third place recently. A big reason why they are so good is that they outscore most teams. Colorado Avalanche is fourth in the NHL in goals scored and is still in the top ten in goals allowed, showing their balance and strength. Colorado is, of course, lead in goals, points, and assists by superstar Nathan MacKinnon, who has been on an absolute tear of the season. Mackinnon is currently fourth in the NHL in most points this season with 73.

The Senators are coming off of a three-game losing streak, losing to the Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Anaheim Ducks in their last game. The Senators have lost four and their last five games, and last month, they went on a ten-game losing streak.

The Ottawa Senators have certainly struggled this season, and they are currently 18-24-11 on the season. The Ottawa Senators struggle on both ends of the ice, as they are 23rd in goals scored and 28th in goals allowed.

Colorado is 30-21 ATS this season
Avalanche are 5-0 in their last five vs. Atlantic.
Ottawa is 28-25 ATS this season
Senators are 1-5 in their last six vs. Central.

These two teams are going in two different directions as the Colorado Avalanche has won most of their games recently while the Ottawa Senators have lost most of their games recently. However, the Ottawa Senators have been terrible all year round, and they are playing some of their worst hockey lately. I don’t think the Senators have figured out what it takes to turn this team around. I think that the Colorado Avalanche will win this one and win this one comfortably. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche win 4-1.
