The Dallas Stars and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday evening.

The Dallas Stars will look to add to their current four-game winning streak after a 4-3 win over Montreal last time out. Montreal opened the scoring just over a minute into the game and that lead would hold until the 2nd where the HAbs jumped out to a 3-0 lead less than seven minutes into the 2nd period. Mattias Janmark got the Stars on the board just 2:42 later before Tyler Seguin cut the deficit to one with just over four minutes to go in the 2nd. Blake Comeau tied the game at three just after the nine-minute mark of the 3rd period. The rest of the 3rd solved nothing, so it was off to OT where Seguin buried his 2nd goal of the game to give Dallas the win with just over two minutes to play in overtime. Ben Bishop got the win to improve to 20-12-4 on the year after stopping 29 of 32 shots faced in the winning effort.

The Ottawa Senators will look to rebound from a 4-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last time out. Toronto opened the scoring just over four minutes into the game and doubled their lead within the first two minutes of the 2nd period. Toronto pushed the lead to three before Connor Brown pulled a goal back later in the 2nd and Cody Goloubef cut the deficit to 3-2 just before the midway point of the 3rd, but Toronto would lock up the win with an empty-netter with just over a minute to play in the game. Marcus Hogberg got the loss, falling to 3-6-7 on the year after allowing 3 goals on 16 shots faced in the losing effort.

Dallas is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall and 7-3 in their last 10 games playing on no rest while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games against the Atlantic division. Ottawa is 2-10 in their last 12 home games and 15-37 in their last 52 games playing on no rest while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.

Part of me wants to give the Senators a punchers’ chance here as they’ve had the upper hand on the Stars in recent meetings, but the fact remains that Ottawa continues to provide no value where they play as the Senators have just fallen off of a cliff lately. Dallas continues to play lights out hockey and are picking up momentum at just the right time, so I’ll side with Dallas to get the job done in regulation time to get the price down.

Chris’s Pick Dallas in regulation +100
