Thursday NHL action pits the Florida Panthers against the Ottawa Senators.
The Florida Panthers have dropped five of six following a 6-1 loss at Montreal on Tuesday. Frank Vatrano found the back of the net for the Panthers James Riemer allowed three goals on nine shots before Sam Montembeault came on and allowed three goals on 18 shots.
Tomas Tater paced Montreal with a pair of tallies with Brett Kulak, Artturi Lehkonen, Phillip Danault and Max Domi all reaching the scoring column. Andrew Shaw posted a pair of helpers for the Habs and Carey Price picked up the win with 33 stops.
The Ottawa Senators have won consecutive contests after shutting down visiting Buffalo 4-0 on Tuesday. The Sabres never got in to the scoring column despite 36 shots while Carter Hutton struggled with all four goals allowed on 31 shots.
The Senators received first period goals from Anthony Duclair and Brian Gibbons with Rudolfs Balcers and Magnus Paajarvi lighting the lamp in the third. Thomas Chabot added a pair of helpers for Ottawa and Craig Anderson stopped 35 shots to get the win.
