Thursday NHL action pits the Florida Panthers against the Ottawa Senators.

The Florida Panthers have dropped five of six following a 6-1 loss at Montreal on Tuesday. Frank Vatrano found the back of the net for the Panthers James Riemer allowed three goals on nine shots before Sam Montembeault came on and allowed three goals on 18 shots.

Tomas Tater paced Montreal with a pair of tallies with Brett Kulak, Artturi Lehkonen, Phillip Danault and Max Domi all reaching the scoring column. Andrew Shaw posted a pair of helpers for the Habs and Carey Price picked up the win with 33 stops.

The Ottawa Senators have won consecutive contests after shutting down visiting Buffalo 4-0 on Tuesday. The Sabres never got in to the scoring column despite 36 shots while Carter Hutton struggled with all four goals allowed on 31 shots.

The Senators received first period goals from Anthony Duclair and Brian Gibbons with Rudolfs Balcers and Magnus Paajarvi lighting the lamp in the third. Thomas Chabot added a pair of helpers for Ottawa and Craig Anderson stopped 35 shots to get the win.

Panthers are 1-5 in their last 6 overall and Panthers are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. Atlantic and Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 road games.
Senators are 18-38 in their last 56 overall and Senators are 4-10 in their last 14 vs. Atlantic and Senators are 2-9 in their last 11 games playing on 1 days rest.

Florida is the better team but the reality is neither is going anywhere. I would do something on the over if anything…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
