The Los Angeles Kings visit the Ottawa Senators in Saturday NHL action.
The Los Angeles Kings are shooting for back to back road wins after knocking off Montreal 3-0 behind an airtight defense and some early scoring. Montreal did put up a strong offensive effort with 40 shots but ran in to a hot goalie while Carey Price got the loss with three goals allowed on 29 shots.
The Kings score twice in the first period on goals off the sticks of Adrian Kempe and Michael Amadio with Jeff Carter logging assists on each. Carter also scored in the third to put the game out of reach and Jack Campbell brushed aside 40 shots for his first shutout.
The Ottawa Senators have struggled to keep the puck out of their net and that trend continued in a 7-4 loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday. Ottawa saw Brady Tkachuk and Maxime Lajoie each score twice while Chris Tierney logged three helpers and Mikkel Boedker added two assists.
The Flyers offensive explosion feature a pair of goals from Scott Laughton and Jakub Vorecek with Sean Couturier, Robert Hagg and Claude Giroux joining the scoring column. Calvin Pickard picked up the win for Philadelphia with four goals scoring on 35 shots.
Under is 6-0 in Kings last 6 road games and Kings are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 4-0 in Kings last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400. Over is 5-0 in Senators last 5 overall and Senators are 0-4 in their last 4 games following a home loss of 3 or more goals and over is 4-0 in Senators last 4 following a loss of 3 or more goals. Kings are 15-6-1 in the last 22 meetings.
The Kings look defensive minded thus far but I think the offense should do enough damage to get the win here…
