The Kings look to start a new winning streak after having theirs snapped in Buffalo on Saturday as they head into Ottawa to battle the Senators.
The Los Angeles Kings head into the Canadian capital on Monday night looking to send the Sens fans home upset and earn their 20th victory of the season in the process which has them with a 10 points cushion in the Pacific division. The Kings are playing like a team on a mission and they could very well jump back into the conversation as a Stanley Cup favourite if they continue their winning ways and before their shootout loss to the Sabres they had won six in a row and are 7-1-2 in their last 10 contests overall. Jhonas Enroth couldn't get the win against his former team and he will likely be relegated back to the bench in this spot as Jonathan Quick will get the call as he will face off against Craig Anderson despite Andrew Hammond getting the call up from Binghamton.
The Senators meanwhile have lost back to back games and have dropped five of their last 10 which has slipped them from second into fourth in the Atlantic though they trail the Red Wings by just three points. Ottawa is usually a pretty sound home team and while they are 7-4-4 at the Canadian Tire Centre so far this year they need to do a better job at closing out games against good teams which is exactly the scenario they find themselves in here. This should be a very exciting contest between two playoff contenders and while I think the Kings get the win I like the total better as Anderson and Quick should put on a show.
