The Senators look to rebound after a 7-3 drubbing in Boston last night as they welcome the Devils to the Canadian Tire Centre.
The Devils are looking to win their second game in as many nights as they take to the road after a 3-2 win against the Hurricanes last night and if they can earn the full two points they can pull to within a single point of the Rangers for the third automatic berth in the Metro division. New Jersey has been a quiet team so far this season but they are four games above the 500 mark and are impressing a lot of people who had doubted them in the preseason and if they can add a piece or two at the trade deadline they really do look like a complete team with a great goaltender and that is a recipe for an upset or two. Cory Schneider will get the call as he will likely face off against Craig Anderson.
The Senators meanwhile are hoping some home cooking will cure what ails them after getting smashed by the Bruins last night at the TD Garden in what was a 7-3 final for the black and gold who made the Sens look pedestrian at best. Ottawa sits in fifth place in the Atlantic and while that may seem like a bit of a disappointment you have to remember that they are just a point back of the Bruins for third and four back of the division leading Panthers who took over the top spot with a win against the Canadiens last night. Ottawa needs to reply here but either way you look at it this should be a much lower scoring game than the one last night as the Devils have trouble scoring and both teams are in a back to back.
