The Senators loo to shake off an ugly loss against the Predators in their last outing as they return home to battle the Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks head into Ottawa on Thursday coming off a victory and have points in seven of their last 10 contests but will be in tough against a Sens team who gave up seven goals to the Predators on Tuesday night. Vancouver continues to find ways to win games despite coming into the year supposedly in the midst of a rebuild but the youth movement has started early as both Jared McCann and Jake Virtanen appear to be on the roster for the long haul. The Canucks still have some holes but so long as Ryan Miller is between the pipes they will be a competitive team and heading into Ottawa against the Sens they will look to net their sixth road win of the year.
The Senators can take away one positive from their loss to the Preds on Tuesday and that is they were able to bury five goals past Pekka Rinne which some teams are lucky to get across a two game span against the Finnish national. Unfortunately, they couldn't piece anything together in the defensive zone and had an off night between the pipes and it cost them in the end as the offense did their part to earn two huge points on the road against a Cup contender. The Sens return home to face Vancouver here but the problem lies in Ottawa's home ice play against Vancouver's road play and as a dog I think the Canucks are well worth a shot on the money line.
