The Ottawa Senators look to improve their play on home ice on Thursday night as they welcome the Jets to town who are coming off a win against the Maple Leafs last night.
The Winnipeg Jets continue their Ontario road trip in the Canadian capital on Thursday night as they look to complete the sweep after a final minute victory against the Leafs last night. Winnipeg is off to a nice wstart this season sitting with an 8-4-1 record and are very uncharacteristically playing superbly on the road as five of those eight wins have come outside of Manitoba. The Jets are a legit Western Conference contender this season and while they may get lost in the shuffle thanks to the other powers in their division they shouldn't be overlooked and they will be on full display Thursday night. Mike Hutchinson will get the start as he will go up against Craig Anderson.
The Senators meanwhile haven't been playing the greatest to start the year but are still very much in the fold and have gotten some great outings from the likes of Kyle Turris and Bobby Ryan. The Sens are in the midst of a goaltending split much like the Jets are and while Ottawa's may be a little less of a focal point there are those out there that are still beckoning for Andrew Hammond to take over but clearly the right move for now is to stick with Anderson. This should be an exciting game and while the Jets are coming off a win last night I think they see a much different animal here and that Ottawa's special teams make the difference in a low scoring affair.
