The Flyers look to snap out of a two losing skid and regain some ground in the Metro division as they welcome the Bruins to Wells Fargo on Monday.
The Boston Bruins look to improve on their already impressive road record this season as they head into Philadelphia and if they can grab a victory they can move into second place in the Atlantic division. Boston currently sits in fourth place but trail both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings by a single point and with a game in hand the B’s are in a nice position to grab a victory and stay ahead of the curve. The B’s are 14-5-3 on the road this season and will be going with Tuukka Rask in this one while the Flyers are 11-6-5 at home and will counter with Steve Mason.
The Flyers meanwhile are still in the mix in the Metro division but if they fall any further they will likely be forced into becoming sellers at the trade deadline and delay their franchise turnaround by another season. Philadelphia sits in seventh place in the Metro but they are only eight points out of third and if they can go on a run they could very well make up some serious ground as they have a number of games in hand on those in front of them. However, this isn’t a great place to start as they welcome in a Boston team that has played well for the most part this season despite some major roster moves and in this one they have the edge in the crease.
