Saturday NHL action pits the Carolina Hurricanes at the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Carolina Hurricanes are eyeing a third straight win after downing New Jersey 3-1 on Thursday. New Jersey took a 1-0 first period lead on an Andy Greene marker. Michael McLeod and Pavel Zacha logged helpers for the Devils and Cory Schneider took the loss with three goals allowed on 25 shots.

Warren Foegele, Justin Faulk and Nino Niederreiter supplied the offense for Carolina. Nine different players recorded points for the Hurricanes which made a winner of Petr Mrazek and his 36 saves.

The Philadelphia Flyers head in to the final game of the season riding a four game skid after a 7-3 defeat at St. Louis on Thursday. Oskar Lindblom, James van Riemsdyk and Claude Giroux scored first period goals for Philadelphia. Riemsdyk also assisted for the Flyers and Brian Elliott gave up four goals on five shots before Carter Hart stopped 27-30 shots in relief.

Alexander Steen led St. Louis with two markers with Ivan Barbashev, Ryan O’Reilly, Patrick Maroon, David Perron and Brayden Schenn adding goals. Jordan Binnington picked up the victory with three goals given up on 29 shots.
