The Florida Panthers look to stay red hot as they head into Philadelphia to take on a Flyers side who has been way too inconsistent this season.
The Panthers started the season off slowly but are now looking like a team capable of going on a playoff run in the Eastern Conference, and with a win on Tuesday they would rip off their 5th in a row and 7th in their last 10 following a victory. The Cats have a solid lineup from top to bottom and are expected to send Roberto Luongo to the crease here as he has spent most of the season in the injured reserve after getting off to a fast start. Florida is 11-5 in their last 16 against teams from the Metro division but they are winless in their last 5 trips to Philadelphia and the home team is 13-3 in the last 16 matchups between these two teams. Luongo is expected to face off with Brian Elliott who remains the only answer in the Philadelphia crease.
The Flyers meanwhile are in the midst of an ascent as they are 5-1 in their last 6 games but they have battled inconsistency and are far too streaky of a team to be taken into consideration as a solid play most nights. The Flyers have beaten up on teams with a losing record though and have had their way against the Panthers over the years as they are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings overall and as mentioned they have won 5 in a row at home against Florida.
The Panthers are 7-2 in their last 9 following a win and have hit the under in 3 of their last 4 following a win while the Flyers are 16-6 in their last 22 against a team with a losing record and are 4-1 to the over in their last 5 against the Atlantic. The Cats are the deeper team and at plus money on the road they get it done and continue their jump up the Eastern Conference standings.
