The Flyers look to win their third in a row at the expense of the defending champs as the Kings head into Philadelphia.
The Los Angeles Kings dropped their first game of the season to the San Jose Sharks while celebrating last season's triumphant success but since then they have gone 6-0-1 and right back in the mix atop the league standings. The Kings are loaded from top to bottom and return all of the key pieces from last year's team with the exception of Slava Voynov who remains suspended after getting arrested for domestic violence. It doesn't seem to matter where the Kings play as they are a tough out both at home and on the road and now head into Philadelphia where a couple of current Kings will face off against their former team and perhaps shine their Cup rings a little brighter in the process. Jeff Carter has been on fire so far this season as he, Tyler Toffoli, and Tanner Pearson have been lighting up the scoreboard and you can be sure that “That 70's Line” would love to pot a few here aganist Ray Emery and the Flyers in Jeff Carter's homecoming.
The Flyers are a tough team to figure out as they seem to fall flat against some of the game's weaker teams but step up against the power houses which is something we can expect in this one when they host the defending champs. Philly would be more than happy to play all 82 games against their archrivals from Pittsburgh as they seem to have a mental and competitive edge over the Penguins and as much as we would also like to see that as hockey fans it is evident that the Flyers are going to have to find ways to win against other teams. The Flyers have won back to back games so will be skating with confidence in this one but there is just so much good about this Kings team that it is never a good idea betting against them. I will take Los Angeles in this spot any day of the week.
