The Minnesota Wild make a rare trip to the Wells Fargo Center for an NHL matchup with the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Minnesota Wild are on the road for the 4th time in a row with the Philadelphia Flyers on deck. Minnesota is shooting for back to back wins after downing the Montreal Canadiens 3-0 to end a three game slide.
The Wild have had great success versus the Canadiens with seven consecutive wins behind outstanding goaltending. The Minnesota offense was all Jason Zucker with all three goals coming in the third period with a shorthanded tally to begin the scoring an empty netter to end the scoring.
The Montreal offense ran in to a hot goalie as the offense recorded 41 shots but Charlie Lindgren gave up two goals on 34 shots to get the loss as the Habs three game winning streak ended. Devan Dubnyk picked up the win for the Wild to up his record to 5-6-1.
The Philadelphia Flyers are hoping to get in a groove when the Minnesota Wild visit on Saturday. Philadelphia has won two of three after downing the visiting Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 on Thursday night.
The Balanced Flyers attack produced goals from Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier and Jacub Voracek in building a 3-0 second period lead. The Blackhawks cut the lead to 3-1 on a goal off the stick of Connor Murphy but would not get closer.
Giroux and Voracek also logged two assists apiece to support 37 stops from Brian Elliott to give Philadelphia five points in three games. Corey Crawford was tagged with the loss with 28 saves as Chicago fell to 7-7-2.
