The Line: Philadelphia Flyers -120 / Nashville Predators +100 --- Over/Under: 5.5
NHL action comes to the City of Brotherly Love when the Philadelphia Flyers host the Nashville Predators.
The Nashville Predators head out on the road looking for their second win of the young campaign over the Philadelphia Flyers. Nashville is playing well with wins in three of four following a 4-1 decision versus the visiting Colorado Avalanche.
Beating Colorado has become almost automatic for Nashville as the Predators have won this matchup seven consecutive times. Viktor Arvidsson and Roman Josi paced the Nashville offense with each scoring and logging an assist while Colton Sissons and Austin Watson also lit the lamp.
Pekka Rinne continued to play well with 20 saves to up his record to 3-1-1 for the Preds. Nathan MacKinnon scored on the power play in the second but Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov was charged with four goals on 34 shots.
The Philadelphia Flyers will be looking to avenge a loss to the Nashville when the Predators visit on Thursday night. Philadelphia has won three of four following a complete 5-1 victory against the Florida Panthers.
The Flyers scored four times in the second period before turning to their defense to hold the fort. The trio of Valtteri Filppula, Shayne Gostisbehere and Claude Giroux each lit the lamp and logged an assist with Dale Weise and Sean Couturier joining the scoring spree.
Michael Neuvirth picked up the win for the Flyers with a huge 40 save performance with Jamie McGinn scoring the Panthers lone goal on the power play. Roberto Luongo was charged with four goals on 38 shots to absorb the loss for Florida.
Under is 5-0 in Predators last 5 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and Predators are 0-4 in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and Predators are 0-6 in their last 6 road games. Over is 4-0 in Flyers last 4 home games and Flyers are 8-1 in their last 9 home games and over is 6-1 in Flyers last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Under is 6-1-1 in the last 8 meetings in Philadelphia and over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings and Predators are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Philadelphia.
I think Philadelphia gave Nashville the win in the first meeting and hopefully get some revenge here…
