The New York Rangers look to shake off a sluggish effort against the Sabres as they take to the road to face the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night.

The Rangers had one of their worst efforts of the season last night as they pushed back a little bit by the Buffalo Sabres in a 4-2 decision but they get right back on the horse here against their division rivals from Philadelphia in what should be a highly entertaining contest. New York was one of the best teams in the league in the pre-Christmas schedule and are one of the favourites to win the Eastern Conference this season as they have a ton of depth, a great tandem of goaltenders, and a blue line that has plenty of veteran experience all playing for a coach who has shown he can win consistently in this league. New York is in a back to back but they have plenty of trends working in their favour here as Henrik Lundqvist is expected to face off against Steve Mason.

The Flyers meanwhile have been on a tear at home of late as they have won seven of their last eight games when playing in front of their fans but they have dropped four games in a row heading into tonight’s contest against their bitter rivals. Philly has had a nice start to the season and while they were a playoff team a season ago they have fallen out of the group of NHL’s elite over the last couple of seasons but they do look as though they are a team to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference and will need a handful of statement wins against good teams to reassert that fact.

The Rangers are 6-1 in their last seven road games and 9-3 in their last 12 overall while the Flyers are 7-1 in their last eight home games and 5-1 in their last six against the East. New Yokr will look to respond and with Henrik in the crease and plus money they are worth the shot here against a slumping Flyers side.
