Things haven't been going well for either of these clubs but it has partially been for different reasons. The New York Rangers have struggled with adjusting to new head coach Alain Vigneault's system and they've also been struck with injuries. Rick Nash, Ryan Callahan, Carl Hagelin, and now Henrik Lundqvist are all on the shelf. Lundqvist will miss Thursday's game with an undisclosed injury and rookie backup Cam Talbot will make his first career NHL start. The Rangers are coming off a disaster of a game on Saturday night where they lost 4-0 to the previously winless New Jersey Devils. Philadelphia just isn't a very good hockey club right now and they're in a learning phase as well. This is an opportunity for them to right the ship against a team that's struggling just as much as they are. The Flyers get to face New York on their home ice and they get to take on a rookie netminder making his NHL debut. If they can't figure out a way to win this one they might not win too many this year.
