NHL action comes to the Wells Fargo Center where the Philadelphia Flyers host the New York Rangers.

The New York Rangers are hoping to enter the offseason on a positive note after dropping five of six. The Rangers are coming off of a 2-1 defeat at the rival New York Islanders on Thursday where defense was the name of the game.

Kevin Hayes scored the Ranger goal on a first period power play with Ondrej Pavelec taking the loss with 20 saves. Thomas Hickey  and Anthony Beauvillier scored for the Islanders in the second period and Jaroslav Halak picked up the win with 34 saves.

The Philadelphia Flyers are hoping to enter the postseason with a full head of steam after a 4-3 win versus Carolina on Thursday. Klas Dahlbeck, Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal provided the Hurricanes scoring with Scott Darling allowing four goals on 34 shots.

Michael Raffl, Ivan Provorov, Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek each found the scoring column for the Flyers. Sean Couturier and Shayne Gostibehere gave Philadelphia two assists each and Brian Elliott stopped 19-22 shots for the win.

Rangers are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and over is 7-1-1 in Rangers last 9 vs. a team with a winning record and Rangers are 1-6 in their last 7 vs. Metropolitan. Over is 5-0 in Flyers last 5 home games and Flyers are 4-0 in their last 4 home games and over is 5-0 in Flyers last 5 games following a win. Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Rangers are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Philadelphia and over is 3-1-3 in the last 7 meetings in Philadelphia.

The Flyers strength has been scoring and the way this series has gone I think the over deserves a look…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
