Monday NHL action brings us the St. Louis Blues visiting the Philadelphia Flyers Monday.

The St. Louis Blues are going through a bit of a skid with losses in three of four after a 4-3 defeat against the visiting NY Islanders on Saturday. Brayden Schenn, Zach Sanford and Ryan O’Reilly provided the offense for the Blues with Jake Allen allowing four goals on 14 shots to get the loss.

Matt Martin, Jordan Eberle, Johnny Boychuk and Anders Lee each found the back of the net for New York. Casey Cizikas provided the Islanders with two helpers and Robin Lehner stopped 29 shots to get the win.

The slumping Philadelphia Flyers have dropped  five in a row after a 3-2 OT loss to visiting Calgary on Saturday. Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny tallied for the Flyers Carter Hart allowing three goals on 29 shots.

Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk scored in regulation for the Flames. TJ Brodie netted the winner in OT for Calgary with Noah Hanifin logging two assists to the 32 saves of David Rittich a winning effort.

Under is 3-0-1 in Blues last 4 road games and Blues are 0-4 in their last 4 Monday games and Blues are 1-8 in their last 9 vs. a team with a losing record. Flyers are 0-5 in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and Flyers are 0-5 in their last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 5-0 in Flyers last 5 vs. Western Conference. Blues are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Philadelphia and home team is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings.

The Flyers changing coaches has done nothing and I’m staying away from this altogether but I’ll throw this out there…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
