The Philadelphia Flyers welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Wells Fargo Center in Tuesday action.
The Tampa Bay Lightning continue their road trip with a stop at the Wells Fargo Center to take the ice with Philadelphia. The Lightning are coming off of a 4-2 defeat at Pittsburgh where neither end of the ice was strong enough. The table appeared to be set for the visitors who faced a Penguins squad without captain Sydney Crosby who was out with a case of the mumps. Instead it was Pitt who perservered with goals coming from Bryan Rust, Brandon Sutter, Brian Dumoulin and Steve Downie. Marc-Andre Fleury was strong between the pipes with 29 stops to give his team their 5th win in eight contests. Tampa Bay received goals from Nikita Kucherov and Jonathan Drouin while Ben Bishop was charged with a goal before leaving with an injury in the first with Evgeny Nabakov coming on to record 18 saves.
The Philadelphia Flyers continue their homestand when Tampa Bay comes to the City of Brotherly Love. The Flyers are hoping to build on consecutive victories after blasting Carolina 5-1 Saturday afternoon. Philadelphia made quick work of the Hurricanes with a two goal first followed by three tallies in the second. Five different players lit the lamp for the Flyers with Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek, Michael Raffl, Sean Couturier and Scott Laughton leading the offensive explosion while Steve Mason picked up the win with a 25 save performance. The Hurricanes lone tally came off the stick of Eric Staal in the second while Anton Khudobin was charged with five goals on 23 shots.
The under is 4-0 in Lightning last 4 vs. a team with a losing record with the Lightning going 0-4 in their last 4 Tuesday games while the over is 10-2 in Lightning last 12 vs. Metropolitan. For Philadelphia the under is 4-0-1 in Flyers last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and 4-0-1 in Flyers last 5 Tuesday games while the Flyers are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Head to head the over is 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings while the Lightning are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings with the home team going 6-1 in the last 7 meetings. No goalie has been confirmed for the Lightning but I lean over when these teams meet so I'll have a pick up when netminders are named...
