The Vancouver Canucks visit the Philadelphia Flyers for Tuesday night NHL action.
The Vancouver Canucks make the long trip to the east coast to face the Philadelphia Flyers. Vancouver ended a brief two game home stand with a 4-3, overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues. Neither team was able to stop the other with Brayden Schenn winning it with his tally at 2:41 of the extra session for the Blues.
The balanced St. Louis featured regulation goals from Colton Parayko, Vladimir Sobotka and Joel Edmundson with Jake Allen stopping 20 shots to pick up the win. The Canucks scoring came off the sticks of Brock Boeser, Markus Granlund and Sven Baertchi but Anders Nilsson was charged with all four goals on 31 shots as the team had to settle for a point.
The Philadelphia Flyers are looking more and more like last season where wins were far and few between. Philadelphia has gone winless in four straight following a 5-4, overtime loss to the visiting Calgary Flames on Saturday. Michael Frolik gave Calgary the win with his goal just 1:18 in to OT while Sean Monahan record a hat trick.
Johnny Gaudreau added a goal and a pair of helpers to help the Flames and goalie Mike Smith to the victory. The Philadelphia offense received goals from Ivan Provorov, Sean Couturier, Brandon Manning and Nolan Patrick while Brian Elliott was charged with all five goals on 32 shots.
Canucks are 4-0 in their last 4 Tuesday games and under is 5-1 in Canucks last 6 road games and under is 5-1-1 in Canucks last 7 Tuesday games. Flyers are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference and Flyers are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and Flyers are 0-5 in their last 5 vs. a team with a losing record. Home team is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.
I’m a Flyers fan and they are annoying me to no end. If this play continues through the first half the playoffs will be out of reach. Right now I’ll back Philly but I’ll update…
