The Capitals look to get back in the win column after a loss in their last outing as they take to the road to battle the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Washington Capitals head into Philly on Thursday night looking to rebound and with a victory they can pull to within two points of the New York Rangers for top spot in the division in what is likely going to be a tight race all year long. Washington has a ton of offensive fire power and may have found the missing link in the off season when they brought in TJ Oshie and with a solid blue line and one of the better goalies in the league the Caps look like a team primed to make a deep playoff run. The Caps play in the first leg of a back to back but will likely go with Braden Holtby in this one as he will go up against Steve Mason.
The Flyers have been inconsistent to start the season and despite having one of the best lines in hockey they haven't been able to generate many victories and sit in sixth place in the Metro division. Philadelphia has the potential to turn things around but if they continue to struggle as the season moves along they could find some pieces on the move and become sellers at the trade deadline. Philly is 3-3-1 at home this season while the Capitals are 4-2 on the road which supports the case that the Caps should be in a good position to take this game and when looking at the rosters they are the better team. We get a nice price thanks to the Caps playing on the road and we will gladly take it.
