The Line: Phoenix Coyotes -131 / Ottawa Senators +119 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Senators and Coyotes complete a busy night on the ice when they meet in Glendale heading in opposite directions.
The Senators complete a tough road trip on the West coast in Glendale on Tuesday night coming off back to back losses to the Kings and Ducks, the latter marking new Senator Bobby Ryan’s return to his old stomping grounds. Ryan was able to notch a tally in his return to Anaheim but it was all for not as the Ducks were just too powerful and sent the Senators packing with a 4-1 victory. Ottawa will need to bounce back in a hurry as they face a Coyotes team who is playing with a ton of confidence and will be looking for their third consecutive victory this time at home. Craig Anderson is likely to get the call for the Sens in goal while the Coyotes will counter with Mike Smith.
Phoenix has looked very strong over their last couple games but that seems to be the case with this team as they are very streaky in both directions and can rifle off five in a row only to completely lay an egg the following week. Phoenix is definitely a defense first type of team as the strength of their roster in is goal and on the blue line as Smith, Keith Yandle, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson assume most of the game planning from opposing coaches but they do have some guys who can score as well and against a Sens team that is defensive oriented as well it could play in Phoenix’s favour to have more depth up front. However, I think Ottawa’s last loss was a product of circumstance as they were a little extra tense for Ryan’s return to Anaheim and now that they’re back and loose again I think they end the road trip on a winning note and leave Phoenix with two points.
