The Penguins look to create separation in the Eastern Conference wild card race as they welcome the Coyotes to town on Monday night.
The Arizona Coyotes head into Pittsburgh on Monday looking to chip away at an eight point wild card deficit in the Western Conference and play spoiler for the Penguins at the same time in a contest that should be hotly contested between two teams looking to cement their spot in the chase for the Cup. Arizona has exceeded expectations this season as many thought they would be league doormats and while they have fallen by the wayside over the last month or so they still have a nice crop of players and if they can go on a run in the final 20 games they could very well jump into a playoff spot, though it is unlikely at this point. Louis Domingue is expected to get the start in the Arizona crease as he will face off against Marc-Andre Fleury who will counter for the Pens.
The Pittsburgh Penguins meanwhile have shaken off a slow start to the year and now find themselves in a playoff spot with 20 games remaining with the possibility of improving their standing and avoiding a potential opening round match up with the Washington Capitals. The Pens have a ton of talent, especially in the offensive zone, but they have been relatively quiet considering their preseason hype and expectations, but a lengthy playoff run can put an end to all of that. The Pens are in a good spot here against a Coyotes side that is struggling right now and while the value is too high for a money line play we can reduce it a bit and bank on the Pens getting it done in regulation.
