The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Boston Bruins in a Friday night NHL tilt.
The Boston Bruins have been in need of a hot streak and might be on their way with three straight wins after upending Arizona 4-3 on Tuesday. Nick Schmaltz and Nick Cousins scored in the first for a 2-0 Arizona lead with Michael Bunting lighting the lamp in the third. Darcy Kuemper absorbed the loss for the Coyotes with four goals allowed on 26 shots.
Brad Marchand led a four goal Boston second with a pair of tallies with Danton Heinan and David Pastrnak also supplying markers. Pastrnak assisted twice and David Krejci added three helpers for the Bruins who received 30 saves from Tuukka Rask.
The Pittsburgh Penguins defense let them down in a 6-3 defeat at struggling Chicago on Wednesday. Bryan Rust was the Pittsburgh offense with a goal in the first and two in the second for a hat trick. Matt Murray took the loss for the Penguins with four goals allowed on 27 shots.
The balanced Blackhawks received scoring off the sticks of Andreas Martinsen, Brent Seabrook, Alex Debrincat, Marcus Kruger, Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad. Toews also assisted twice for Chicago to make the 40 save performance of Corey Crawford a winner.

Pittsburgh is tough to get a handle on because we don’t know when the offense or defense is going to shine. I’ll bank on both offenses showing up…
