The Edmonton Oilers continue their road trip in Pittsburgh after getting doubled up by a 4-2 mark in Washington last night. The Penguins meanwhile are 4-1 on the season and have been crushing teams at will as many expected they would coming into the season.

The Oilers have been the talk of the league over the past few seasons as they have accumulated a ton of first round draft picks that were projected to be all-star calibre talents and return the team back to respectability. While the road is still bright for the Oil, they haven’t been able to generate much success over the past few seasons and the start of this one doesn’t appear to be any different for the blue and orange. They dropped a heartbreaking overtime game to the Leafs on Saturday night and followed that up with a 4-2 loss to the Capitals last night as they gave up three second period markers that put the game out of reach. Edmonton will have to regroup in a hurry as they get the high flying Penguins in Pittsburgh which is never an easy task to complete.

The Penguins continue to be a force to be reckoned with and while their only loss of the year came on the road against the lowly Panthers, they have been incredible otherwise and won’t take the Oilers for granted here. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jussi Jokinen highlight a stacked offensive unit and Kris Letang anchors the point but the one stealing the show for the Pens so far has been often scrutinized goaltender Marc Andre Fleury who is putting up Vezina numbers at the moment. The line on this game is much like the one we saw when the Pens took on the Panthers only this time the game is in Pittsburgh. I think the Penguins come out and lay it to the Oilers just and validate their effort against the Panthers which I’m sure players and brass are still a little irked about.
