The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Edmonton Oilers in Wednesday NHL action.

The Edmonton Oilers have dropped seven of eight of ten following a 5-2 loss  to visiting San Jose on Saturday. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zack Kassian scored for the Oilers and Cam Talbot took the loss with five goals allowed on 31 shots.

Kevin Lebanc led the San Jose attack with a hat trick with Evander Kane and Thomas Hertl also finding the back of the net. Joe Thornton assisted twice for the Sharks and Aaron Dell recorded 21 saves to pick up the win.

The Pittsburgh Penguins come off of a 4-1 victory at Philadelphia on Monday that ended a four game slide. Jacub Voracek scored on the power play in the third for Philadelphia and Carter Hutton took the loss with three goals allowed on 27 shots.

The Penguins received scoring off the sticks of Sydney Crosby, Nick Bjugstad, Jake Guentzel and Kris Letang. Crosby also posted a pair of helpers and Matt Murray picked up the win for Pittsburgh with a 50 save performance.

Oilers are 1-5 in their last 6 games as an underdog and Oilers are 1-7 in their last 8 overall and Oilers are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference. 

Penguins are 22-9 in their last 31 vs. Western Conference and Penguins are 12-5 in their last 17 vs. Pacific and Penguins are 1-4 in their last 5 overall. 

Oilers are 1-6 in the last 7 meetings in Pittsburgh and Oilers are 5-17 in the last 22 meetings and road team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
