The New Jersey Devils open the second half of the NHL season at the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Marcus Johansson gave New Jersey a 1-0 lead in the first with Jesper Bratt scoring with 56 seconds left in the game. MacKenzie Blackwood absorbed the loss for the Devils with three goals allowed on 14 shots.

The Pittsburgh Penguins ended the first half of the season with losses in three of four following a 7-3 defeat at Vegas. Phil Kessel, Dominik Simon and Sydney Crosby lit the lamp for the Pens. Jake Guentzel assisted twice for Pittsburgh with Casey DeSmith giving up six goals on 34 shots.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
