The Rangers look to sweep the home and home with the Penguins after shelling them in New York during the week but round two goes in Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
The New York Rangers reminded everyone in the league why they were the Eastern Conference champions last season when they absolutely waxed Sidney Crosby and the Penguins at MSG earlier this week as they won decisively by a 5-0 mark. The Blue Shirts were a little tuckered out after their romp of the Pens as they lost in overtime they following night but they'll need to refocus here as they know full well the Penguins will have revenge on their minds and will be skating with confidence after upending the Maple Leafs in Toronto last night. New York will likely go with Henrik Lunsqvist as he will go up against Marc-Andre Fleury who strategically gave way to Thomas Greiss last night so he could have another shot at New York in this one.
The Penguins haven't lost too many games this season so it came as no surprise that they were able to rebound nicely after getting pumped by the Rangers and while they only managed two goals against the Leafs they were able to shut down the red hot Toronto attack en route to a 2-1 win. The Penguins remain atop the Metro division and can extend their lead with a victory here against New York who at the moment trail the Pens by a six point margin. The Penguins are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games and are one of the best teams in the league and while they are playing in a back top back here I think this is going to be a huge revenge game for Crosby and the Pens and I see them returning the favour in a huge way. Take the Penguins big.
