Joe Thornton led San Jose with a hat trick with Joe Pavelski and Logan Couture lighting the lamp. Pavelski also assisted twice and Martin Jones was charged with six goals on 20 shots to fall to 28-11-5.
Torey Krug, Zdeno Chara, Karson Kuhlman, Jake DeBrusk and Chris Wagner scored in regulation for the Bruins and Charlie McAvoy netted the overtime winner. David Krejci added three helpers and DeBrusk assisted twice for Boston to make the 33 saves of Tuukka Rask a winner.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have ripped off wins in four of five after defeating New Jersey 4-3 on the road Tuesday. Jesper Bratt, Marcus Johansson and Miles Wood lit the lamp for New Jersey. Mirco Mueller logged two assists and Keith Kinkaid took the loss with four goals allowed on 27 shots.
