The Tampa Bay Lightning and Pittsburgh Penguins meet up on Thursday night in game seven with a spot in the Stanley Cup final on the line.
The Lightning look to move on to their second straight Stanley Cup final with a series deciding game seven win on the road against the Penguins and while they have had success so far in this series in Pittsburgh they know it’ll be a huge mountain to climb in this one. Tampa Bay has shocked the hockey world with this playoff run as they have do it without Steven Stamkos and some even had them out after the first round but they continue to battle adversity and defy the odds and are just one win away from another trip to the big dance. Andrei Vasilevskiy will continue to get the work in the Tampa crease as he will face off against fellow youngster Matt Murray who is having a remarkable run in place of Marc-Andre Fleury.
The Penguins meanwhile netted a massive victory in Tampa Bay in game six as their big guns stepped up and now have set up a home game in the deciding seventh game with a date with the Sharks at stake. Pittsburgh clearly has the edge in the offensive zone and if they can get their top guys rolling once again it’ll be tough for the Bolts to stay in this one but as mentioned they have been able to win games in this building in this series and in a winner take all situation you can’t count out the Lightning at all. However, the last few game sevens have been a bore as the better team has emerged with comfort and I am anticipating the same here as the Pens cruise to a home ice win and move on to the Cup final.
