|Date & Time||Tuesday February 6, 2018, 7:00 PM (EST)|
The Line: Pittsburgh Penguins -139 / Vegas Golden Knights +126 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Vegas Golden Knights visit the Pittsburgh Penguins in Tuesday night NHL action.
The wait goes on for those expecting the Vegas Golden Knights to falter with the team continuing to play well at both ends of the ice. Vegas has won three of four after a 4-3 win at the Washington Capitals. Washington received scoring from Chandler Stephenson, Matt Niskanen and Nicklas Backstrom.
Reilly Smith paced the Golden Knights with a pair of goals with Ryan Carpenter and Alex Tuch also lighting the lamp. Vegas received two assists each from Pierre-Edourd Bellemare and Jonathan Marchessault while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 20 shots. Philipp Grubauer absorbed the loss for Washington with 27 saves.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have broken out of their season long slumber and are looking like the defending Stanley Cup champions. Pittsburgh had won four in a row before cooling off for a night in a 3-1 defeat at the New Jersey Devils where Evegni Malkin scored the lone goal in the third.
New Jersey received goals from Travis Zajac and Blake Coleman in the second period before Zajac scored his second of the game with just nine seconds remaining to secure the win. Keith Kinkaid stopped 15 shots to get the win for the Devils while Casey DeSmith allowed three goals on 38 shots to get the loss for the Penguins.
Golden Knights are 7-0 in their last 7 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation and Golden Knights are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. Metropolitan and Golden Knights are 10-2 in their last 12 vs. Eastern Conference. Over is 4-0 in Penguins last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and over is 4-1 in Penguins last 5 Tuesday games and over is 4-1 in Penguins last 5 home games.
There are no trends to lean on here but I’ll take a small shot at the over for an interest…
