Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Winnipeg Jets - 01/04/2019 NHL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Winnipeg Jets in a Friday NHL matchup.

The Winnipeg Jets are looking for back to back wins after a 4-3 victory at Edmonton on Monday. Edmonton received a pair of markers from Leon Draisaitl with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also scoring. Connor McDavid assisted twice and Mikko Kosinen took the loss for the Oilers with four goals allowed on 36 shots.

Brendan Lemieux topped the Winnipeg offense with two goals with Brandon Tanev and Blake Wheeler also lighting the lamp.

The red hot Pittsburgh Penguins have won nine of ten after throttling the NY Rangers 7-2 on the road Wednesday. Ryan Strome and Pavel Buchnevich supplied the offense for New York with Henrik Lundqvist allowing six goals on 18 shots before Alexandar Georgiev stopped 6-7 shots in relief.

The balanced offense of Pittsburgh received scoring from Zach Alston-Reese, Jake Guentzel, Kris Letang, Dominik Simon, Evegeni Malkin, Tanner Pearson and Sydney Crosby.

Patric Hornqvist added two helpers and Matt Murray picked up the win for the Penguins with 28 saves.

Jets are 5-0 in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Jets are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Jets are 8-1 in their last 9 road games. Penguins are 6-0 in their last 6 games following a win and Penguins are 6-0 in their last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and Penguins are 5-0 in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. Jets are 4-26 in the last 30 meetings in Pittsburgh and over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and Jets are 15-47 in the last 62 meetings.

I know the Penguins can’t win every game but I’d do something on them if I were to bet this…

Pittsburgh Penguins -132
