The Boston Bruins look to stay red hot as they take to the road to face off against the San Jose Sharks who sit tied with the Calgary Flames for top spot in the Western Conference.
The Bruins have won 5 games in a row and have done so for the last couple without superstar forward David Pastrnak but things get tough for them here against the Sharks who are one of the league’s top teams and are 7-3 in their last 10 contests. The Bruins have coasted through some of the league’s best teams as they are 14-3 in their last 17 games against the Western Conference and are an impressive 6-2 in their last 8 games away from home but they find themselves as a sizeable underdog here against a San Jose side who is among a handful of teams in the discussion as a threat to win the Stanley Cup. Tuukka Rask is expected to get the start as he will face off against Martin Jones.
The Sharks meanwhile have found themselves as a favorite quite often this season as they have one of the deepest rosters in the NHL and they have been one of the most consistent teams to boot as they are 17-5 in their last 22 games following a win. San Jose is 7-1 in their last 8 games as a home favorite but they are winless in their last 4 games against the Bruins and will need a complete team effort to extinguish the hot streak of the Bruins who are looking like a contender in the Eastern Conference at the moment. Goals have been at a premium lately in this series as the Under has hit in 8 of their last 10 meetings in San Jose and is 4-1 in the last 5 Sharks games at home.
The Bruins are 8-0 in their last 8 games against the Pacific and are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a dog while the Sharks are 21-8 in their last 29 overall and 7-3 in their last 10 games against the East. Boston is playing very well at the moment but the Sharks always seem to find a way to win big games at home and while the price isn’t great they should have no trouble getting it done.
