The Line: San Jose Sharks -215 / Buffalo Sabres +190 --- Over/Under: 5
The San Jose Sharks welcome the Buffalo Sabres to the SAP Center in a Tuesday night NHL hockey match up.
The Buffalo Sabres have their backs against the wall when the topic is making the postseason but they are an improved club and don’t seem to be that far away at the end of the day. The Sabres proved to be resilient in defeating the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3 on Saturday as they came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first period. Evander Kane scored the game winner with 2:29 remaining while Matt Moulson, Jake McGabe, Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel also scored. Anders Nilsson was pulled after giving up all three goals with Robin Lehner giving Buffalo 24 saves in relief. Oliver Bjorkstrand, Nick Foligno and David Savard supplied the Blue Jackets offense with Joonas Kopisalo making 26 saves.
The San Jose Sharks looked strong at both ends of the ice to rout the Dallas Stars 5-1 Sunday to give the SAP Center crowd plenty to cheer about. The Sharks offense was balanced with Joe Pavelski leading the way with a pair of goals with Joel Ward, Patrick Marleau and Chris Tierney also scoring to help Aaron Dell to his 4th consecutive victory with a 29 save effort. San Jose has now won six of eight and hold a hefty eight point lead in the Pacific Division over the Anaheim Ducks who defeated Washington. Remi Elie supplied the lone goal for the Stars but Kari Lehtonen was pulled after giving up three goals on eight shots with Antti Niemi coming in to make16 saves on 18 San Jose shots.
The over is 5-0-1 in Sabres last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and the over is 4-0-1 in Sabres last 5 vs. a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in Sabres last 4 overall. The Sharks are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with a losing record and the under is 5-1 in Sharks last 6 games following a win while the under is 5-1-1 in Sharks last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. The Sabres are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in San Jose and the Sabres are 14-3-1 in the last 18 meetings while the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in San Jose.
The Sabres have dominated San Jose on the road and the under has been a strong side so I lean under until goalies are confirmed…
