The Hurricanes look to shake off a tough loss on the road against the Kings last night as they continue their California trek in San Jose on Saturday.
Carolina suffered another heartbreaker last night on the road against the Kings as they failed to put one past Jonathan Quick and now have to deal with a goaltender in Martin Jones who continues to play with a huge chip on his shoulder and a team who is lethal at home when they're on. The Canes are on auto fade at the moment as they somehow overachieving by staying competitive in games they could very well be winning and I have a feeling that things could take a turn for the worse as the season moves along and a statement game for the Sharks here who look to snap their three game slide could be on the horizon. Cam Ward will likely get the call as he will face off against Jones in what is actually a pretty decent goaltender show down.
The Sharks continue to be the Sharks as we are starting to sound like a broken record as they prove time and time again that they are an incredibly streaky team and that we should fade them when they are losing until they win again and ride them when they're hot until they lose. It seems like a pretty simple logic but most teams throughout the course of a season don't have the swings that San Jose does and ultimately it cost them last year as they came up short for a playoff bid. I am not entirely sold on this team yet and not sure if they come close to the postseason and after preaching the trend I am going to go the other way here as Jones will be the difference maker and he lands the Sharks a big win.
