The San Jose Sharks welcome the Chicago Blackhawks to town in Thursday night NHL action.

The Chicago Blackhawks have one of the more talented rosters in the game but the team is just 7th in the Central. The offense has struggled and that trend continued in a 3-2 loss at the Columbus Blue Jackets where David Kampf and Tomas Jurco scored and Anton Forsberg was charged with three goals on 29 shots.

The Blue Jackets offense came off the sticks of Cam Atkinson, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Josh Anderson with Dubois also adding a helper. Columbus received 28 saves from Sergei Bobrovsky on 30 shots.

The San Jose Sharks look to resume their chase for first in the Pacific when the team shoots for consecutive victories. San Jose comes off of a 5-2 win versus Edmonton where Connor McDavid and Jesse Puljujarvi scored for the Oilers.

The balanced Sharks attack saw Joe Pavelski, Justin Braun, Timo Meier and Logan Couture light the lamp in the second period with Chris Tierney adding an empty net tally. Pavelski gave San Jose three assists and Evander Kane posted two helpers to lift Martin Jones and his 24 stops to the win while Cam Talbot allowed four goals on 36 shots.

Blackhawks are 0-6 in their last 6 road games and under is 4-0 in Blackhawks last 4 overall and Blackhawks are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. Sharks are 1-5 in their last 6 Thursday games and Sharks are 2-9 in their last 11 vs. Central and Sharks are 4-1 in their last 5 home games. Under is 4-0-1 in the last 5 meetings and home team is 20-6 in the last 26 meetings and Blackhawks are 3-8 in the last 11 meetings in San Jose.

I think we have to look at San Jose at home here given the Blackhawks struggles or lay off completely…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
