Sunday NHL action features a matchup between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the San Jose Sharks.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have struggled for consistency at both ends of the ice which has their playoff hopes on less then solid ground. Columbus has lost consecutive contests after a 4-2 loss at Anaheim where Sonny Milano and Zach Werenski scored and Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 31 saves in defeat.

The Ducks saw four different players score with Rickard Rakell, Andrew Cogliano, Josh Manson and Cam Fowler reaching the scoring column. Rakell and Fowler also added assists to make a winner of John Gibson and his 34 save performance.

The San Jose Sharks have won six of ten with two goals or less allowed while scoring three goals or more. San Jose has won back to back games following a 7-2 rout of Chicago where Artem Anisimov and Nick Schmaltz scored for the Blackhawks with JF Berube allowing six goals on 28 shots before Anton Forsberg stopped 5-6 shots in relief.

Joe Pavelski topped the Sharks with a pair of goals with Logan Couture, Kevin Labanc, Timo Meier, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Barclay Goodrow finding the back of the net. Dylan Demelo added three helpers for San Jose who received 32 saves from Martin Jones.

Over is 4-0 in Blue Jackets last 4 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and Blue Jackets are 1-6 in their last 7 vs. Pacific and Blue Jackets are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. Sharks are 4-0 in their last 4 home games and over is 5-0 in Sharks last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and over is 3-0-1 in Sharks last 4 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Blue Jackets are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings and road team is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and Blue Jackets are 6-21 in the last 27 meetings in San Jose.

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
