Tuesday night NHL action features the Dallas Stars visiting the San Jose Sharks.
The Dallas Stars were dropping games left and right but have won two of three to keep their Wild Card hopes alive. Dallas comes off of a 4-1 win versus Minnesota where Zach Parise scored for the Wild and Devan Dubnyk stopped 32-35 shots in defeat.
The Stars received scoring from Jason Spezza, John Klingberg, Radek Faksa and Tyler Seguin on the empty net. Klingberg and Seguin also posted assists and Kari Lehtonen gave Dallas 33 saves to improve to 14-14-3.
The San Jose Sharks were challenging the Vegas Golden Knights for supremacy in the Pacific but have hit the wall with three straight losses after falling 3-2 at Vegas on Saturday. San Jose saw Joe Pavelski and Marc-Eduard Vlasic score with Martin Jones getting the loss with three goals allowed on 38 shots.
Shea Theodore, Oscar Lindberg and William Karlsson provided the offense for the Golden Knights with Theodore and Karlsson also adding helpers. Marc-Andre Fleury upped his record to 29-12-4 with 31 stops for Vegas.
Stars are 0-5 in their last 5 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and over is 4-0 in Stars last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and Stars are 0-7 in their last 7 games following a win. Over is 7-0 in Sharks last 7 games playing on 2 days rest and Sharks are 4-0 in their last 4 home games and over is 5-1 in Sharks last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Home team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in San Jose and Stars are 3-10 in the last 13 meetings in San Jose.
The Sharks seem to be the choice on a quick glance but Dallas is desperate and has to win but I’d do something on the over…
