The San Jose Sharks welcome the Florida Panthers to town for Thursday NHL action.

The Florida Panthers are gunning for a third straight win after defeating Detroit 6-1 on Monday. Thomas Vanek scored a PP goal in the second for the Red Wings. Frans Nielsen posted the lone assist for Detroit and Jimmy Howard was charged with six goals on 43 shots.

The balanced Panthers saw Josh Brown, Jamie McGinn, Frank Vatrano, Jonathan Huberdeau, Dryden Hunt and Aleksander Barkov reach the scoring column.

Aaron Ekblad and Mackenzie Weegar each posted a pair of helpers and Sam Montembeault picked up the win with 19 saves.

The San Jose Sharks ran their winning streak to six games with a 5-4 victory at the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. Andrew Copp, Bryan Little, Kyle Connor and Mathieu Perreault all lit the lamp for the Jets. Perreault also had an assist for Winnipeg but Connor Hellebuyck gave up five goals on 36 shots.

Gustav Nyquist led the San Jose scoring spree with two markers while Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Marcus Sorensen and Joe Pavelski found the back of the net. Vlasic and Joe Thornton supplied the Sharks with two assists each and Aaron Dell stopped 21-25 shots to get the win.

Panthers are 19-42 in their last 61 games as a road underdog and Panthers are 2-6 in their last 8 overall and Panthers are 0-4 in their last 4 road games.

Sharks are 22-7 in their last 29 overall and Sharks are 21-7 in their last 28 games following a win and Sharks are 11-4 in their last 15 games playing on 1 days rest.

Underdog is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and road team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and Panthers are 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in San Jose.

Florida tends to stay competitive even when they lose so I’d do something small on the Panthers…

Florida +1 // will update

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
