The Kings look to rebound after a 3-2 loss in Arizona last night as they continue their road trip in San Jose against the Sharks.
The Kings look to shake off a loss in the desert last night and extend their lead in the Pacific division over the Sharks which currently stands at eight points marking the biggest gap in the league. The Kings have dropped back to back games though and haven’t been good in the process and while they almost rallied last night against the Coyotes they will need a more complete effort in this one if they’re going to get back in the win column. Los Angeles is 14-7-2 on the road this season and will likely go with Jonathan Quick here while the Sharks are 9-12-1 at home and should counter with Martin Jones who faces off against his former team.
The Sharks are coming off a win yesterday at home against the Minnesota Wild and remain in second spot in the Pacific division heading into a pivotal show down at home today against the Kings. San Jose has turned it up of late and are 7-2-1 in their last 10 contests and while they have a ways to go before they can even consider challenging the Kings for the division crown they could take a huge step with a win at home here. However, their play in San Jose this season is a major cause for concern and against a team like LA that plays well on the road is quite alarming despite the Kings dropping back to back contests. This will be a great contest and while the home side is playing better of late I think the Kings get the victory on the road.
