The Minnesota Wild take the ice with the San Jose Sharks in a Tuesday NHL tilt.
The Minnesota Wild are one of the hottest teams in the game with wins inn seven of eight after downing St. Louis 5-1 on the road on Saturday. Ryan O’Reilly scored on a first period power play for the Blues with Jake Allen absorbing the loss with five goals allowed on 45 shots.
The balanced Minnesota offense received scoring off the sticks of Eric Staal, Nick Seeler, Matt Dumba and Eris Fehr. Seeler and Jordan Greenway supplied two assists each and Devan Dubnyk recorded 15 saves for the Wild.
The San Jose Sharks avoided a three game skid on the strength of a 4-3 OT victory against visiting Philadelphia on Saturday. Nolan Patrick, Jordan Weal and Jakub Voracek lit the lamp for the Flyers. Oscar Lindblom added two helpers and Calvin Pickard allowed four goals on 35 shots for Philadelphia.
Timo Meier led the Sharks with a first period marker and the OT winner just 13 seconds in to the extra session. Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton also found the back of the net for San Jose while Kevin Labanc logged two assists to make the 25 stops of Martin Jones a winner.
