The Montreal Canadiens look to wrap up their four game West Coast trip with a victory when they head to San Jose to take on the Sharks. Montreal has dropped two of the first three games on this trip and it won't be any easier against a San Jose club that is really tough at home. The Canadiens were unable to follow up their win over the Anaheim Ducks with another one when they traveled to Phoenix to play the Coyotes. Peter Budaj surrendered three first period goals and the Canadiens were never able to recover. Andrei Markov's goal temporarily tied the game at 1-1 but the Coyotes answered and didn't look back. Special teams really hurt the Habs in this one as they went just 1-for-5 with the man advantage while allowing the Coyotes to convert two out of their three attempts. Montreal is still firmly sitting in a playoff position but they'd really like to find a way to accumulate some more points here before they head home. Things are tight throughout the conference in this playoff race and Montreal is still hoping to get Carey Price back from injury so they can get him back into shape heading down the stretch here.

The San Jose Sharks have been alternating wins and losses since the Olympic break but Thursday night's match with the Pittsburgh Penguins should give this club some confidence moving forward. San Jose out shot Pittsburgh 13-10 in the opening frame but found themselves trailing 2-0 after 20 minutes. It took until the closing minutes of the second period for the Sharks to get on the board on a goal from Justin Braun, but it opened up the flood gates for the third. Patrick Marleau's goal earl in the third period tied the game at 2-2 briefly before the Penguins regained the lead. Just over a minute later though the Sharks answered back on a goal from Brent Burns and Joe Thornton scored the eventual game winner later in the period in San Jose's comeback 5-3 victory. Four of the five games since the break for the Sharks have gone over the total and these two teams should be playing an uptempo, fast paced hockey game on Saturday night. This one should have some goals scored especially if these teams can get their power plays going.

On July 1, 2008 I typed into Google "How Do I start A Blog" and I started my first website called "Miami Mitch's Place" where i shared my college football Picks and predictions as well as opinion. By the Fall I had heard from many that the title made it sound like the site was about Miami so I changed it to "College Football Place" (, After the 2008 college football season I change focus and launched, it wasn't long after that when I realized I just wanted one place to add all sports, and that's when Sports Chat Place was born.

This site is a big Thank You to all of our readers, visitors, and community where we have been given a platform to talk to the masses about sports and hopefully help put you on some winners. If you need to reach me just shoot an email to [email protected]
