Pittsburgh Penguins (62-30-10) at San Jose Sharks (58-34-10)
|Date & Time||Saturday June 4, 2016, 8:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: San Jose Sharks -145 / Pittsburgh Penguins +125 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The San Jose Sharks are in desperation mode as the series shifts back to California with the home side in a 0-2 hole against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Pens took care of business on home ice in the first two games of the Stanley Cup final and while both of them were one goal victories and could very well have gone the other way in each instance, the Pens are thrilled to be just two wins away from hoisting yet another Stanley Cup. Sidney Crosby has been remarkable so far in this series and he will look to keep it going once again on the road as his leadership and intangibles have been the difference in the first two games and if Matt Murray can continue to outplay Martin Jones we could see a very short series as the Pens have used their team speed very well and have the Sharks seeing stars right now.
San Jose needs to win both games here to steal back some momentum and that starts tonight on home ice where they were very modest during the regular season but have been dominant during these playoffs. The Sharks are the bigger, more physical team but they haven’t been able to find an answer for the speed of the Penguins and unless they can right the ship in a hurry their magical run to the Cup final will go up in flames. It is tough to call this one a must win as you’re never in trouble until you lose at home but I don’t see the Sharks being able to win four in a row with the Cup n the line so if they’re going to play back into this series it has to be tonight.
