The Winnipeg Jets look to continue their dominance over the Pacific division as they head into San Jose to take on a red hot Sharks team who is tough to beat at home.
The Jets head into San Jose on Tuesday looking to build on their huge road win against the Flames over the weekend as they take on a Sharks side who is on a tear right now which should set up a very exciting show down between these two Western Conference powers. The Jets have done just fine without the services of Mark Schiefele who remains sidelined with an ankle injury and with an 8-3 mark in their last 11 games and a very impressive 15-3 record in their last 18 games against Pacific division foes this Jets group appears to be for real as they are dangerous across the board. Winnipeg is expected to send Connor Hellebuyck to the crease here as he will face off against Martin Jones who has been sharing time with Aaron Dell in the San Jose crease this season.
San Jose meanwhile has won five straight games at home and are 5-1 in their last six games overall which has them firmly in the mix in the Pacific division standings but they will have their hands full with a very good Jets side here tonight. The Sharks are 9-4-1 in their last 14 meetings against Winnipeg and have won four of five against the Jets on home ice which has the Sharks as a slight home favourite here but they have struggled against Central losing their last four games and haven’t had a ton of success scoring goals at home with a 41-18-10 mark hitting the under at home in their last 69 contests.
The Jets are 7-3 in their last 10 Tuesday games and 4-11 in their last 15 road games while the Sharks are 4-1 in their last five against the West and 3-7 in their last 10 after allowing two or less in their previous outing. Winnipeg to me is the better team and even though the Sharks are good at home I like the value on the Jets who get it done once again.
