The Blues look to keep their season alive and force a game seven back in St. Louis while Minnesota can wrap things up with another strong effort on home ice.
The Blues face unfamiliar territory this season as all of the preseason, in season, and postseason hype can go up in flames tonight if they can't find a way to win and after Minnesota responded to win game five the Blues must do the same or face a very long offseason. This series has gone back and forth as the teams have alternated wins and losses and it should come as no surprise as these two were very close in the division standings and on paper they are very evenly matched with the victor lined up to have a grudge match series against the Chicago Blackhawks. Jake Allen continues to get the star in goal but if he has another tough start we could see Brian Elliott who had a pretty good season in his own right.
The Wild are in a great position after the dominated the Blues in St. Louis on Friday night and now they are back home with a chance to book their ticket to the second round and a date with the Chicago Blackhawks. Minnesota has been knocking on the door for the last few eyars but in each of the last two they were knocked out of the playoffs before the Conference finals but this looks like a group who could go all the way especially with how Devan Dubnyk has been playing. However, it is tough to imagine the Blues only winning two games out of six against the same opponent and while I thought we were better served taking them to win at home and taking Minny tonight I think the Blues throw everything they have tonight and get rewarded for it in overtime.
