The Colorado Avalanche go on the road to oppose the St. Louis Blues in Monday NHL action.
The Colorado Avalanche have heated up with wins in six of seven after upending visiting Arizona 3-2 in a SO on Friday. Oliver Ekman-Larsson was the Coyotes offense with a pair of third period tallies but the offense was shutout in the shootout. Vinnie Hinostroza posted assists on both goals for the Coyotes and Darcy Kuemper allowed two goals on 27 shots.
Nathan MacKinnon and Derick Brassard scored first period power play goals for the Avalanche with MacKinnon netting the only goal of the shootout. Philipp Grubauer secured the two points for Colorado with a 42 save performance to improve to 17-9-4.
The St. Louis Blues have racked up wins in six of eight after defeating New Jersey 3-2 in overtime Saturday. Drew Stafford and Joey Anderson lit the lamp in the second for the Devils with Cory Schneider allowing three goals on 27 shots.
Robert Thomas gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead in the first while Tyler Bozak found the back of the net in the second. Vince Dunn netted the winner with three seconds remaining in overtime for the Blues who received 25 saves from Jake Allen.
Avalanche are 6-1 in their last 7 overall and Avalanche are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Western Conference Avalanche are 4-1 in their last 5 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game.
Blues are 4-0 in their last 4 home games and Blues are 5-1 in their last 6 overall and Blues are 10-2 in their last 12 games as a home favorite.
Avalanche are 7-19 in the last 26 meetings in St. Louis and Avalanche are 8-20 in the last 28 meetings and under is 17-8-1 in the last 26 meetings.
Both teams are playing well which makes the juice look even uglier. I’d take a shot at the under or just watch in a toss up…
