The Jackets look to stay red hot and win their sixth game in a row as they travel from Chicago to St. Louis to take on the Blues.
The Blue Jackets look for their second upset win in as many nights as they take on the Blues tonight and if their offense of late has been any indication this should be a high scoring affair and one that Columbus would love to win to keep their miniscule playoff hopes alive. Columbus was expected to be in the mix this season but a number of factors have caused them to plummet in the league standings and only now are they getting back to the .500 mark and I think it is just a formality for them at the moment to play out the string as I think their season will officially end in a matter of days. However, they have been playing very well and get a shot here at a Blues side looking to win back to back games and retake top spot in the Central.
The Blues have been among the league's elite all season long and they are in a dog fight with the Nashville Predators for top spot in the Central division and with a win tonight over the Jackets they can leapfrog the Preds for the lead. The Blues are a very deep team that can score on you across four lines, have a spectacular defense core, and a goaltending duo of Brian Elliott and Jake Allen that will finally get a chance to prove their worth come playoff time after the Ryan Miller experiment failed last season. The Blues have been dynamite at home and while the Jackets have been playing a lot better of late I think their luck runs out in this one against a much superior team.
