The Stars and Blues shift their series to St. Louis on Tuesday night with each team leaving Texas with a victory.
The Dallas Stars take to the road for the next two outings as they look to retake home ice advantage in their Western Conference semi-final series with the St. Louis Blues in what has already been a very entertaining series between two of the league’s best teams. The Stars have the offensive fire power in this series and have more of the marquee names but it is the Blues who have been filling the net as they scored four in game two’s victory and if they can sustain their offensive momentum and continue to exploit the weak Dallas blue line we could see this series end sooner than expected and for the underdog. Kari Lehtonen is expected to get the start in the Dallas crease as he will go up against Brian Elliott who has played every game of these playoffs so far for St. Louis.
The Blues return home where they have been excellent all season long but have to keep their emotions in check in front of their home fans as the Stars were very good on the road and know they need to salvage at least a split in St. Louis to maintain their spot as the series favourite. St. Louis though is a very solid team and clearly have the edge when it comes to defense and goaltending in this series and if they can show that once again in game three I think they should be able to skate away with a win. This series is going to go the distance though, meaning the Stars have to find a way to win a game on the road and with Tyler Seguin slated to come back in the next two contests I think Dallas gets the win on Tuesday night.
